Is a German novel by Thomas Mann published in 1924 and is considered the most important novel of the author and the most important classic novel in German literature in the twentieth century, and was translated into many languages.
Thomas Mann began writing the novel in 1912, after his visit to his wife’s father in a sanatorium in Davos. And it considered initially a short novel, but in the end, the work has become much larger. The play tells the story of the survival of the main protagonist, young Hans Kastrup, in a sanatorium in the Swiss Alps, whose income initially only as a visitor. It has been described as a novel philosophical work, although the novel fits its template learning, and there are reflections on different topics, both by the narrator Owalchksaat (especially Nabhta and Stmbrenne, managers teach the protagonist). The time between these subjects and took a great deal to the extent that the author himself called a Zatrohmen novel “time”, but also there are many dedicated to the discussion of tuberculosis pages, death, aesthetics, politics, etc.
